You must take and Pass 3 Parts of the Qualifying Exam before your name can be entered on the Register of Driving Instructors ( A.D.I Register)

Part 1 Theory & Hazard Perception tests

The A.D.I. theory test requires a higher standard of knowledge than that expected of a learner driver, and comprises a set of 100 multiple choice questions

The hazard perception part will test your ability to identify potential dangers which may normally occur when driving.

This part of the exercise consists of 14 video clips, of about one minute each. The clips feature various types of hazards, such as vehicles, pedestrians and road conditions. You will need to identify hazards developing that may result in having to take some avoiding action, such as changing speed, r position or direction.

Part 2 Driving Ability test

a 1 Hour practical assessment of your driving ability and technique over varying road and traffic conditions. The part 2 element also involves assessments of your eyesight  and some Vehicle Safety questions.

This test is of a very high standard, you are only allowed to make six driving faults to ensure a Pass

Part 3 The teaching or 'Instructional Ability test'

Again a 1 Hour Test to assess your ability to give effective instruction. To Pass all your exams you'll need to prepare thoroughly.
