You must take and Pass
3 Parts of the Qualifying Exam before
your name can be entered on the Register
of Driving Instructors ( A.D.I
Register)
Part 1 Theory
& Hazard Perception
tests
The A.D.I. theory
test requires a higher standard of
knowledge than that expected of a learner
driver, and comprises a set of 100
multiple choice
questions
The hazard
perception part will test your
ability to identify potential dangers
which may normally occur when
driving.
This
part of the exercise consists of 14 video
clips, of about one minute each. The
clips feature various types of hazards,
such as vehicles, pedestrians and road
conditions. You will need to identify
hazards developing that may result
in having to take some avoiding
action, such as changing speed, r
position or
direction.
Part 2 Driving
Ability
test
a 1 Hour practical
assessment of your driving ability and
technique over varying road and traffic
conditions. The part 2
element also
involves assessments of your
eyesight and some Vehicle
Safety questions.
This test is of a
very high standard, you are only allowed
to make six driving faults to ensure a
Pass
Part 3 The
teaching or 'Instructional Ability
test'
Again a 1 Hour Test to
assess your ability to give effective
instruction.To Pass all your exams you'll
need to prepare
thoroughly.
